Triple extension is a key component of an efficient runner. This means they have good extension at the ankle, knee and hip providing power, good body position and stride length.
To help strengthen this movement and get your body working more efficiently and as a whole I love adding the 'Step up onto box with triple extension' exercise into my gym routine.
Step up onto a box with one leg, straightening your standing leg, push through the balls of your foot to come up into a calf raise and squeeze your butt to extend the hips. This has great transfer into your running allowing you to maximise every step!
